WHAT IS PRAXIUM?
prax·i·um (noun, from the Greek /praksəs/): an institution where knowledge and/or skills are applied or used in practice, rather than in theory alone.
PRAXIUM uses a student-centered educational system that promotes relevant learning while allowing flexibility in both time and teaching methods. This exciting new program will serve 7th and 8th-grade students in the Bonneville Joint School District #93 beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. Students can enroll by completing the District #93 waiver form!
WHAT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE FOR A TYPICAL STUDENT?
PRAXIUM will be housed on the Rocky Mountain Middle School campus for the 2021-2022 school year. As the program continues to expand, there may be a need to move locations in the future. Students, whether from Black Canyon Middle School, Sandcreek Middle School, or Rocky Mountain Middle School, all attend PRAXIUM in-person. Students needing transportation will be bused from their "home school" (the school to which they are assigned by their home address in the district) to the PRAXIUM campus at RMMS each day. While there, students will complete a normal day of school using the mastery education model before being bused back to their "home school" to be transported home from there. Students have the same opportunities including athletics and extracurricular activities as all middle school students throughout the district (see the FAQ for Parents for more information).
